A different level of invention

Z-Branch is our development workshop — the place where ideas move beyond drawings and become physical objects. It gives us the freedom to experiment, prototype and manufacture specialist components ourselves rather than restricting our designs to what is commercially available.

The capability has grown from a lifetime spent designing and developing products across aerospace, military and commercial engineering. That experience shapes how we approach a watch: understanding materials, manufacturing processes, tolerances and function before deciding how something should look.

Inside Z-Branch we manufacture specialist dials, case backs and components, develop finishing techniques and experiment with materials. It allows an idea to evolve quickly from CAD to prototype, be assessed physically, changed and remade until the result is right.

It is also where we undertake our material reclamation work. Historically significant metals can be prepared, machined and transformed into components for selected watches, creating a genuine physical connection between the object, the material and the history behind it.

This independence matters. We are not simply selecting components from catalogues and assembling them into watches. Cases, dials, crystals, hands, straps, bracelets and even buckles are considered as parts of one design, developed specifically to create a recognisable Zero West identity.

Z-Branch gives a small independent company capabilities normally associated with much larger organisations. More importantly, it keeps experimentation close to design. If we believe something can be made differently, we have the tools, engineering knowledge and freedom to find out.
