Longitude positions great moments in history, time records it
WHY ZERO WEST
51.48°N – 0.00°W Zero West is not an invented luxury name. It comes from navigation and time itself. Longitude is measured east or west from the Prime Meridian at Greenwich: zero degrees longitude, the reference point from which the world establishes position and time.
That idea immediately connected with what interested us — precision, navigation, engineering, exploration and history. Greenwich provided a natural starting point, but the concept extends far beyond Britain. Zero is the reference; east and west describe the world around it.

The name also captures something about our approach to design. We begin from first principles rather than convention. A watch might start with an aircraft component, an engineering drawing, an instrument, a piece of recovered material or an overlooked fragment of history.
From that starting point we build outward. The typography, colour, case architecture, dial, hands, material and strap are developed to belong together. Historical references are rarely reproduced literally; they are interpreted and transformed into a contemporary mechanical object.

This has allowed Zero West to develop collections with very different stories while maintaining a common identity. A Spitfire, locomotive, racing machine or navigational instrument may provide the inspiration, but the finished watch must still unmistakably belong to the same family.
Zero West therefore describes more than where we come from. It represents a reference point — a place from which to measure, explore and create. For a company fascinated by time, position, machines and history, it remains an unusually appropriate name.
