More about Grant…

Grant Williams started his racing career in 1995 taking the title of the youngest champion in the Jaguar XK Saloon Car Championship in a MK2 Jaguar.

This following his father, Tony Williams handing over the reins of the iconic MK1 Jaguar ‘Buy1’ for Grants first Goodwood Revival in 1999, a penalty stripped him of his pole position but led to one of the most exciting races of Grant’s career.

With numerous races at Goodwood Revival and hill climbs at Goodwood Festival of Speed, it’s safe to say Grant and Buy1 are part of Goodwood’s history.

Racing doesn’t come without it’s problems, and in 2008 when Grant competed in the Fast Forward Series with Andrew Wilson Motors RS500, although he started every race on pole, it led to no finishes due to gearbox problems.

2018 was a busy year with, Carfest North and South, Fastest Saloon car up the Goodwood Festival of Speed hill climb, 3rd place in the Jack Sears Trophy at The Goodwood Revival and 4th place at Donington Park with the HRDC.

2019 brings new challenges with a new drive in VR Motorsport Praga R1T in 2 races with the Britcar Championship, along with 5 rounds of the HRDC championship in ‘Buy1’

The last few years have been difficult for everyone, but now life is back on track and we are looking forward to the road ahead.
